info on data plans for pdas and smartphones

Recently, I ported my US cell number, which of course I only use when
visiting the US on business, from tMobile Prepaid to AT&T Prepaid, which
they call GoPhone. I did this because tMobile does not let you use data on
prepaid at all. It's just not an option. If you try to connect to their
network for data, the connection request is refused.

The very cool thing is that the week I ported, AT&T began offering unlimited
data on prepaid for $19.95. So you pay $19.95 and for the next 30 days, you
get unlimited data. This suits me very well, because it may be a couple of
months between visits so paying a monthly fee doesn't make sense.

Also, thanks to Walking Hotspot, it's really easy to get online anywhere so
I don't need to use hotspots at airports. Where the Edge connection is good,
I don't even need to use the expensive hotel connections. So all good stuff.

A good article but I thought it sad it didn't report the actual plans they
found and the costing structure.

My AT&T unlimitted Data is $15 per month but does not include texting. I
was told $30 initially, discussed being aware it was available much cheaper
for my N82 smart phone and suddenly had the $15 offer. I'm not locked into
a plan and can change as I wish if a better plan for me comes available.
$40 per month for the minimum call plan that suits me
$15 per month for unlimitted data

Anyone else?

Be Well,
