query about talks

hi all.
I have changed the subject line to suit the nature of my mail. Is there a
key in talks that you can use to avoid long known dialogues. In Jaws, for
analogy's sake, ctrl key stops speech. Is there any equivalent of that
function in talks software?
Regards
Tp
