Yes Kelly, this is certainly a perspective that appears to have validity in
the US market, where take-up of smart phones is considerably lower than, say
Europe and Asia.

I believe the issue of affordable access to telecommunications services may
have been missed in the message below. If someone wants access to simply
place and receive voice telephone calls, the other information-based
features are overkill and superfluous. However, on certain networks and
carriers, the only way to obtain basic access is to use a phone with a
screen reader, such as Talks or Mobile Speak. For example, voice Aid and
the audio access features of the personal directory are not fully
sufficient to access the basic functions of Nokia phones, such as the N75.

determined by the blind end user of Nokia phones unless one installs a

yes it seems as if Joe is comparing two different products, but if only one
has basic access then that is an important consideration.
