over here, you see particularly the younger generation going mad with sms's. 
I've even managed to get my parents to learn how to do it as well.
we find it useful particularly if we want to just say a few words to the 
other person.
I know for a fact that in germany the whole lot is more expensive. it is 
still taking my hubby a while to get use to the freedom he has suddenly got 
with the mobile compared to back in his old home
