Going to
http://www.shopalltel.com/product/browse.htm?pgId=100
and entering a zip code (I'm not sure where you live, but the zip code I
entered was for a place in Florida just so I can view available phones), the
phones they have which we support include:
HTC PPC-6800 - Mobile Speak Pocket. Alltel's sales price is $250. This has a
slide-out QWERTY keyboard, touch screen, 400 MHz processor, and initially
was sold with WM5 but there is a free WM6 update available now.
HTC Touch - Version 2.0 of Mobile Speak Pocket that will be released very
soon. This is available only for preorder, Alltel's sales price is $200.
This uses the new HTC VueFLO touch screen technology, has WM6 and a 200MHz
processor, but note that it does not have hardware keys for softkey
functions so you will need to use MSP commands to activate those.
Motorola Q - Mobile Speak Smartphone. Alltel's sales price is $150. This has
no touch screen, and has a QWERTY keyboard on the front of the device; runs
on WM5 and a 300MHz processor.
Palm Treo 700WX - Mobile Speak Pocket. Alltel's sales price is $200. This
has a touch screen, QWERTY keyboard on the front of the device, runs on WM5
though there is a WM6 update available, and uses a 312MHz processor.

Subject: Which Phones Are Working Under Alltel?

When my T-Mobile contract runs out in October, I may consider switching back
to Alltel. They seem to have far and away the best coverage in my area. What
phones are people using successfully, either mainstream phones with limitted
accessibility or a SmartPhone using Mobile Speak. Thanks.
