Scott,
I just subscribed to the back-up contacts feature today. The first step,
which is to load the application on to your phone is not accessible, so
you'll want to have someone sighted do that unless you are able to read the
screen on your phone.
(The steps for doing this can be found at the Verizon site)
Once that is done, everything else is done on-line and it's perfectly
accessible. I've just gone through my entire contact list and made updates
as well as adding several new contacts and erasing old ones.
On a side note, I also discovered today that you can easily send text
messages from the Verizon website.
As to phones, I just ordered the LG8350 which I understand does a pretty
nice job with out of the box speech. The LG 9900 is supposed to be great as
well, just didn't want that bulky of a phone, you may want to go to a
Verizon store to check them out for design/size.
Good luck and hope you find the perfect phone for you.
