Talks vs. Talks premium?

Hear is some examples you can do with the graphic labeler in the Talks premium license. The N82 has
many icons that are not defined by Nuance. I have created some icon files that I have sent to people
Like Jonathan and Neil who say they are helpful.

Some of the icons are for the Signal strength of a wireless access point and if it is secured. Also
the calendar in the TODo items ware you can set priority and in the other areas of the calendar ware
their is a alarm, repeats, and the type of event the item is. In the Log detail ware their are
Incoming, Outgoing, and missed activity.

So on the N82 and other phones using the Talks Icon labeler you can make the phone much more usable.
Granted it takes some trial and error as far as trying to determine what a icon is, but well worth
it when your done.

The App. Specific settings is another good thing about the premium license. This is ware you can
tell Talks to behave differently when you go into a program from what it does in some other place.
Example: You normally leave the Full list items set to YES. But when using the Nokia Audio book
player. Talks will not read the books/Chapter list. So you need to change the Full list items to NO.
You can do that with the App. Specific setting and not affect any other program on the phone but
that one.

The dictionary Again you can set it up as a global one or as a App. Specific one. Lets use a example
of a App. Specific one. On 3rd Edition phones, You have the normal Standby screen and then when you
press a number; It changes to the Telephone screen. Well with Talks when this normally happens it
will reread the whole screen on the first press of a number. Using the dictionary: You can keep most
and all the extra information from being spoken depending on the profile being used. Example: I use
AT&T as my cell provider and I have a profile I call Work for when I'm at work. Now normally if I
press a key I would hear the phone wake up from the screen saver mode and read the cell provider and
then Work being that is the profile that I'm using. Then when I press the first digit of a Telephone
number; I would hear my cell provider and then Work followed by Text and then the number I pressed.
Using the dictionary, I can cause all of that not to be spoken accept for the number that was
pressed. So I would press a number to get the phone to go into the Telephone screen. Then I would
then add AT&T, Work and Text to the dictionary and only assign it to the Telephone program and leave
the replace with empty. Then after I have saved that; I can just press a digit and only hear that
digit and none of the other stuff.

With the Talks standard that is provided by some cell providers; You can do none of the above.

Oh! as far as the dictionary; You can do very good things with it. Example: I have told people how
they can change the normal profile on the phones using the Talks dictionary to say Tuesday February
12th 2008 instead of hearing Tu 02/12/2008.
