Further to Phone rebooting at startup

Hi all,
thanks to some great help I have found the phone will work ok without
the Multi Media Card.
I wish to purchase a Card reader to reformat the MMC.
When I get a USB card reader does it come with it's own software or
do I run it through Nokia PC Suit.
The version of PC Suit is for the 6600. Would it work with a card reader?
